CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 23 Nov. 2012. Rockwell Collins recently received a $35 million award for satellite communication services from the U.S. Army Communication-Electronics Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. This was an award under an $88 million indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery contract for services.
The award calls for Rockwell Collins to provide satellite communication services, including operations, maintenance, upgrades, and training in support of Army missions in the U.S. and around the world. Rockwell Collins will provide the services as part of its FlexForce life cycle service solution, a service offering for defense and government agencies worldwide.
FlexForce is a customizable service solution that includes a global infrastructure consisting of repair and supply chain management, tools, lean processes, and employees. FlexForce services include operating and maintaining satellite communication equipment that provides data, voice and video communications from remote areas to enhance the situational awareness of the warfighter.
