KORTRIJK, Belgium, 4 September 2009.Rugged display specialist Barco in Kortrijk, Belgium, is introducing the HD-30 military display in HD format for harsh environment military information display applications in shelterized mobile ground control stations and other tightly confined demanding environments.
The 30-inch wide-screen high-resolution HD-30 rugged displays are qualified for the ground control station environment. The HD-30 displays offer touch screen interface using the NextWindow touch screen technology to enable users to interact via finger tips, gloves, or stylus. Barco's HD-30 meets mil specs for shock-vibration and EMI/EMC to withstand the harsh environmental and operational conditions within a mobile shelter.
With bright and crisp graphics and video, the HD-30 provides 2,560-by-1,600-pixel (WQXGA) resolution to enable operators to perform mission planning and present digital maps in their native format. The HD-30's fast response time reproduces fast-moving images with vivid accuracy, while the display's wide viewing angle lends itself to collaborative use by several viewers.
"With the development of the rugged HD-30, we are aligning with the visualization architecture of the future ground control station," says Peter Pauwels, product and program director of Barco's defense business unit. "The defense community values the display's large screen size and high resolution, making it the most efficient and ergonomic single-operator display solution for the tightly confined spaces within the shelterized mobile ground control stations."
