L-3 Integrated Systems selects Ampex Data Systems' high-definition video recorder for ISR Project Liberty

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., 14 April 2009. Ampex Data Systems Corp. won a contract award from L-3 Integrated Systems to supply rugged Ampex miniR 700 airborne high-definition video data recorder systems. The recorder systems will support the Air Force's new NC-2W Intelligence-Surveillance-Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft. These Project Liberty Aircraft will augment current ISR assets used by the U.S. military and its coalition partners.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., 14 April 2009. Ampex Data Systems Corp. won a contract award from L-3 Integrated Systems to supply rugged Ampex miniR 700 airborne high-definition video data recorder systems. The recorder systems will support the Air Force's new NC-2W Intelligence-Surveillance-Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft. These Project Liberty Aircraft will augment current ISR assets used by the U.S. military and its coalition partners.

"The miniR 700 recorder is a fully integrated, multi-channel, high-definition video and digital data recorder," describes Don Downing, Ampex business development manager. "The unique architecture of our miniR 700 solid-state recorder system enables it to collect and replay the full-motion video generated by the advanced L-3 WESCAM MX-15 True HD Sensor.
