FOLSOM, Calif., 22 August 2006. Kuchera Defense Systems (KDS) has awarded Jadoo Power Systems Inc., a supplier of portable fuel cell power systems, a contract to develop the next evolution in advanced fuel cell system designs.

Building upon the Jadoo IFS24 military development platform delivered earlier this year, the contract will focus on system optimization and weight reduction. The end goal is the replacement of legacy battery technologies weighing close to 80 pounds with fuel cell power systems weighing 70-percent less.

Using Jadoo's N-Stor intelligent digital fuel interface, new fuel canisters will utilize advanced chemical hydrides.

"Powering military applications requires fuel flexibility and scalability," says Larry Bawden, Jadoo Power president and CEO. "The Jadoo family of fuel cells delivers these options through the use of the N-Stor digital intelligent interface."
