HOUSTON, 5 June 2006. Kinesix Software has renewed maintenance agreements that will ensure the continued use of its Sammi graphical-interface software as part of the Mission Support Operations Contract (MSOC) for NASA's space shuttle program. The MSOC covers mission operations and ground systems support for the Mission Control Center (MCC) at Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Data streams for shuttle systems and operations are fed into the MCC, which requires a solution for interpreting this information into useful graphical displays. Kinesix's Sammi software runs most of the graphical displays at the MCC -- especially those that control payload applications and monitor shuttle orbits.

NASA physicians also use Sammi to monitor the life signs of the astronauts aboard the shuttle.

NASA also uses Sammi as part of its International Space Station program -- to view complex live data streams in a user-friendly, easily interpreted format.

In addition to using Sammi at the Johnson Space Center, the agency also uses the product at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Langley Research Center, and Goddard Space Flight Center.
