WASHINGTON, 18 April 2006. The U.S. Army, Air Force, and Navy have deployed Bantu's Inter-Domain Messaging (IDM) Gateway technology, which for the first time enables military personnel to communicate across disparate military networks, locations, and computing platforms -- regardless of service affiliation.

"In cooperation with the Air Force and Navy, we're resolving one of the most complex and daunting problems facing government, delivering the right information to the right person at the right time," says U.S. Army Lt. Colonel Kenneth Blakely, Chief of Operations for U.S. Army Knowledge Online (AKO).

IDM Gateway permits military services to connect discrete EIM implementations/networks into one federated secure collaboration system across the Department of Defense (DoD). Bantu will provide the services with a real-time collaboration network that 3.5 million military personnel can use to communicate and collaborate.

The web-based, thin-client application provides EIM, presence management and alerting capabilities. Bantu is certified and deployed on government sensitive and secret networks, meeting DoD requirements for security, scalability, centralized control, platform independence, standards-based architecture, ease of deployment and support.
