ROCKVILLE, Md., 14 Oct. 2010. Paradigm Holdings Inc., a provider of information technology (IT) and cybersecurity solutions for federal government enterprises, won a 5-year, $14 million subcontract from OnPoint Consulting Inc. (Arlington, Va.) to support the Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Information Assurance Response Center (IARC).

Located in Las Vegas, Nev., NNSA’s Information Assurance Response Center (NIARC) is a facility that continuously monitors all activity going through the Nuclear Security Complex (NSC) computer firewall system, providing intrusion detection and event forensics.

NNSA is responsible for the management and security of the nation’s nuclear weapons, nuclear non-proliferation, and naval reactor programs. It responds to nuclear and radiological emergencies in the U.S. and abroad. NNSA federal agents also provide safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons and components and special nuclear materials, along with other missions supporting the national security.

Given the national security implications of NNSA’s mission, NIARC provides 24x7x365 security monitoring for NNSA’s unclassified and classified networks encompassing 13 NNSA and DOE sites. In addition, NIARC provides enterprise systems support and classified cyber security incident management for NNSA.
