New avionics are designed to serve small advanced air mobility, military, and small turbofan and turbojet markets.

OLATHE, Kan. - Garmin in Olathe, Kan. has introduced its new G3000 Prime flight deck, which is now Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified and designed to serve Part 23 turbine, military, and advanced air mobility markets. The G3000 Prime features touchscreen displays and a flexible open system architecture to improve pilot efficiency and reduce workload.

The system features 14-inch touchscreen primary displays that offer enhanced functionality and memory capacity. It also incorporates high-speed system connectivity and multi-core processors, which significantly improve display responsiveness. Complementary 7-inch secondary displays can show data and control system functions, and in some cases, serve as standby flight instruments.

The multi-touch interface allows both the pilot and copilot to interact with the displays simultaneously, and Garmin’s design supports physical control devices, including hands-on throttle-and-stick (HOTAS) systems used in military applications. The user interface features streamlined access to essential applications like maps and weather.

Other notable features include a Window Manager tool for managing app display and sizing, enhanced flight management system (FMS) tools for handling emergencies and flight changes, and automated checklists linked to crew alerting system (CAS) messages.

The G3000 Prime also integrates safety technologies such Garmin Autoland, Smart Glide, Emergency Descent Mode, and more. The system supports terminal safety technologies like Runway Occupancy Awareness (ROA) and Garmin SurfaceWatch to assist pilots in preventing runway incidents.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth, and satellite services, enabling real-time data access and flight plan uploads.

"Twenty years ago, Garmin redefined the general aviation cockpit with the G1000, our first integrated flight deck. Ten years later, we introduced the G3000, bringing the first touch screens to the light turbine cockpit, and revolutionary technologies like the award-winning Garmin Autoland. With over 30,000 Garmin integrated flight decks now in service, we are proud to introduce G3000 Prime, the industry's most intuitive and advanced flight deck to date," said Phil Straub, Garmin's Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Aviation.
