RF power amplifier for airborne electronic warfare (EW) and radar transmitters introduced by Comtech PST
MELVILLE, N.Y. – Comtech PST Corp. in Melville, N.Y., is introducing the model BME2969-300 integrated high-power-density solid-state RF power amplifier modules for airborne, mobile, and fixed-site electronic warfare (EW) and radar transmitters where space, cooling, and power are limited.
The model BME2969-300 has a frequency range of 2000 to 6000 MHz; saturated power output of 300 Watts; output power into 2.0:1; voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 200 Watts minimum; RF input range of -10 to 0dBm typical; and RF input Overdrive of +10 dBm maximum.
The power electronics device offers DC bias of AB linear; modulation format of multi-tone, CW, AM, FM, pulse; input VSWR of 2.0:1 maximum; output load VSWR of 2.0:1 typical; harmonic (in band 2nd/3rd) of less than -20 dBc typical; IM products (4 tones) of less than -20 dBc typical; spurious of less than -60 dBc; stability of open/short tested; built-in test of composite fault indication; RS-422 (over temp, over current); forward/reverse Sample Analog Voltage; noise power output of biased -70dBm/Hz Typical; and quieted -150dBm/Hz typical.
The RF power amplifier module offers summary fault indication of 3.3 volts RS-422; PA blanking enable/disable of 3.3 volts RS-422 (less than 5 microseconds); DC input of 18-32 volts DC; DC power at 28 volts of 1800 Watts typical; efficiency (DC to RF) of 18 percent typical; RF Input of SMA (1X); RF output of SC (1X); RF out coupled sample of SMA (1X); interface connector of D-subminiature (1X); DC power connector D-subminiature (1X); and operating temperature of -40 to 70 degrees Celsius at the baseplate.
The module operates at altitudes of 50,000 feet, in 100 percent condensing relative humidity; and in shock and vibration per MIL-STD-810F. It measures Size of 15.25 by 7 by 2.67 inches, and weighs as much as 17 pounds.
