Circuit protection for USB Type-C ports in desktop and industrial computers introduced by Littlefuse

CHICAGO – Littelfuse Inc. in Chicago is introducing the eFuse LS05006VPQ33 circuit protection device to safeguard computer USB Type-C ports against short circuits, overvoltage, and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
The LS05006VPQ33, part of the Littlefuse the eFuse protection ICs product line, is an integrated protection IC for Type-C PD Vbus short to CC/SBU with 28 volts max and 8 KV IEC-61000-4-2 ESD capability.
The eFuse LS05006VPQ33 is for use in USB Type-C applications, such as notebook and desktop computers, monitors, industrial PCs, point of sales, smart phones, tablet computers, and USB Type-C PD docking stations.
In addition to better reliability, longer life, and lower repair costs, the LS05006VPQ33 also supports 28-volt and higher ESD rating at SBU with 8 KV ESD contact. The eFuse Protection ICs for USB Type-C ports are available in tape and reel format in quantities of 5,000.
