12-year batteries offered by Falcon Electric in company's SG series UPS for lab and IT use
IRWINDALE, Calif., 21 Feb. 2013. Falcon Electric Inc. in Irwindale, Calif., is including 12-year rated valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries in the company's SG series uninterruptible power supply (UPS) product line.
The SG series is the company's power-protection solution for IT, network, and laboratory applications.
The SG series features a dual-conversion, on-line topology to provide automated systems, instruments, computers and other sensitive electronics superior power protection during a power outage.
The wide-temperature batteries are designed to operate in temperatures from -20 to 50 degrees Celsius. Standard UPS batteries are rated for operation from 0 to 40 C. By operating at a wider temperature range, the batteries last for as long as 12 years at room temperature and four years at 50 C.
"These long life batteries are designed for military and industrial applications, and as such now give our IT and laboratory users the exceptional value proposition of not replacing UPS batteries for 10 years or longer," says Paul Newman, vice president of manufacturing at Falcon Electric.
