Front-end 2,100 Watt DC/DC power supply for 54-volt DC distributed power applications introduced by Murata

MANSFIELD, Mass., 7 June 2011. Murata Power Solutions Inc. in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing the D1U4CS front-end 2,100 Watt DC/DC power supply to deliver bulk power to 54-volt DC distributed power applications such as telephone exchanges in-line from the battery bank. The power electronics unit typically is 93 percent efficient at half load power, and offers floating output to enable systems integrators to wire the power supply in a +54-volt configuration for data centers environment or -54-volt configuration for telecommunications central-office applications. A 5-volt DC, 0.75-amp standby output comes with the unit.

Murata Power Solutions Inc. in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing the D1U4CS front-end 2,100 Watt DC/DC power supply to deliver bulk power to 54-volt DC distributed power applications such as telephone exchanges in-line from the battery bank.The power electronics unit typically is 93 percent efficient at half load power, and offers floating output to enable systems integrators to wire the power supply in a +54-volt configuration for data centers, or -54-volt configuration for telecommunications central-office applications. A 5-volt DC, 0.75-amp standby output comes with the unit.The 1U D1U4CS power supply can operate over an input range of -40 to -72 volts DC, measures 13.5 by 4 by 1.6 inches, and has power density of 24.3 Watts per cubic inch. Two internal fans provide forced-air cooling.

The D1U4CS is hot-swappable and capable of droop current sharing, has power control, logic signaling, and operational status functions. The supply can recover automatically from over-current and over-temperature faults.
