IRVINE, Calif., 1 Feb. 2011.IRVINE, Calif., 1 Feb. 2011 Microsemi Corp. in Irvine, Calif., is introducing the 4-port PD69104 and 8-port PD69108 power-over-Ethernet (PoE) integrated circuits for industrial and commercial applications that deliver power to devices ranging from video screen phones and WiMAX transmitters to pan-tilt-zoom cameras, thin-clients and laptop computers.
The ICs comply with HDBaseT connectivity technology for long-distance transmission of uncompressed high-definition video, audio, and power. The technology enables 5Play simultaneous connectivity to numerous entertainment devices over one 100 m Cat5e (LAN) cable.
Benefits include dynamic power management; emergency power management; backplane power management; resilient power management; energy efficiency; and small footprint.
The products have internal power MOSFETs enabling switch manufacturers to build switches that comply with IEEE 802.3-2009 specifications, driving 30 W over 2-pairs or 60 Watts over 4-pairs. Both come in 48-pin QFN 8-by-8-millimeter packages.
