1U single-output switching power supplies for military applications introduced by Excelsys
CORK, Ireland, 13 June 2014. Excelsys Technologies in Cork, Ireland, is introducing the XSolo family of 1U-high, single-output switching power supply units for military, industrial, medical, and IT applications.
The XSolo family of power electronics devices comes in a convection-cooled 504-Watt open-frame U-channel form-factor model (6.8 Watts per cubic inch) and an enclosed, fan-cooled chassis model that delivers to 1008 Watts (13.6 Watts per cubic inch).
The XSolo family meets the environmental conditions per MIL-STD-810, and the voltage dip and interruption requirements of SEMI F47. Capable of 92 percent efficiency, these rugged power supplies have dual safety agency certification: EN60950-1 for industrial applications and EN60601-1, 2nd and 3rd edition for medical applications.
The XSolo platform offers system integrators with variable fan speed, 12 volts at 300 milliamps isolated bias supply, remote ON/OFF, output voltage control and parallel operation for higher power applications. Nominal output voltages are 24 and 48 volts with wide adjustment ranges and user-defined setpoints.
Options include I2C for PMBus communications and ORing diodes for N+1 redundancy. The power supplies also are available with conformal coating and can be ruggedized for harsh environments. With convection-cooled power capability of over 500 Watts, XSolo power supplies are for Hi-Rel MIL-COTS applications as well as sensitive acoustic laboratory and medical equipment.
