HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., 8 March 2006. Behlman Electronics Inc. in Hauppauge, N.Y., is introducing the VME-1000 Work Station Power Supply series for VME-enabled workstations.
VME-1000 power supplies offer low-cost commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and modified COTS solutions for VME-based mission-critical applications ranging from command and control and tactical military systems to data acquisition, simulation and training systems. T
These power supplies also have applications in industrial and commercial applications. All units in the VME-1000 series are switch-mode, five-output power supplies, ruggedized for reliability and survivability.
"Our VME-1000 power supplies have proven themselves in challenging environments, including those experienced in the Wedgetail aircraft program," says Ron Storm, Behlman's vice president of sales and marketing.
The VME-1000 series has an input range of 85 to 265 volts AC, 47-440 Hz, power factor corrected, and can supply as much as 1000 Watts of regulated DC power. Standard outputs are 3.3, 5, 12, and -12 volts, plus a 5 volts DC standby. Optional voltages are available.
For higher power requirements, several VME-1000 units run in parallel. VME-1000 power supplies feature inrush current limiting, and include short-circuit, over-current, thermal, and over-voltage protection. The units are fan-cooled, and operate from -40 to 50 degrees Celsius and to 85 C with derating. Storage temperature range is from -40 C to 100 C.
Behlman's rugged VME-1000 is designed to withstand airborne, shipboard and mobile applications, and is designed to meet MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-167 and RCTA/DO-160 specifications.
