NEW YORK, 9 Jan. 2006. L-3 Communications announced today that its Titan Group's Technical and Management Services Division has been awarded a simulation, training and exercise support contract valued at $74.6 million, including all options if exercised.

This contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Europe's (USAREUR) 7th Army Training Command, Directorate of Simulations-Forward. Under the five-year, single-award contract, L-3 Titan Group will provide constructive simulation support to the USAREUR's eight Battle Command Training Centers in Germany, Italy and elsewhere in the USAREUR area of responsibility, as well as technical support to USAREUR exercises at the Warrior Preparation Center and subject matter expertise/exercise planning support to USAREUR G-3.

"We are very pleased to expand our support to the warfighter through this key training contract with U.S. Army Europe," said Tony Frederickson, president and CEO of L-3 Titan Group. "We understand the importance of the training performed at the Battle Command Training Centers, the Warrior Preparation Center, USAREUR G-3 and other exercises to be supported in this effort, as a primary means for preparing troops to wage the war on terrorism."

In addition to the constructive simulation effort, L-3 Titan Group will also support, as-needed, battle simulation exercises in areas such as Partnership for Peace, Mission Rehearsals, NATO training, and sustainment training of deployed units at remote locations in the European Command Area of Operations. The focus of work to be performed under this effort will be the operation and use of computer-based battle simulation systems to support the training and exercise requirements of both active and reserve component commanders and their staffs at the platoon through senior command level.
