Thermal camera for military and security electro-optical uses introduced by Sierra Olympic
May 12, 2017
HOOD RIVER, Ore. – Sierra-Olympic Technologies Inc. in Hood River, Ore., is introducing the Viento HD IP67 HD 1080-pixel thermal camera for industrial, military, and securityM electro-optical applications that need the maximum possible resolution and number of pixels.
The thermal camera has an environmentally rated enclosure and high-definition longwave-infrared (LWIR) imager in a rugged housing that protects against dust and water.
The Viento HD IP67 delivers 1920-by-1200-pixel resolution using an uncooled vanadium oxide (VOx) sensor with a capacity of more than 2.3 million pixels on a 12-micron pixel pitch.
The uncooled microbolometer detector also provides long life for the camera system by eliminating the need for a cryocooler that would require periodic replacement or servicing.
Sierra-Olympic's high-definition camera system offers HD-SDI, h.264 IP, or 16-bit, full-dynamic-range digital data or digital data with automatic gain control (AGC).

The digital acquisition system includes a configured frame grabber for full-frame rate, full bit depth acquisition, and display. The Viento HD camera system includes integrated image enhancement functions and a 24-millimeter F1.1 athermalized custom-designed optic.
It is available with a hard carbon-coated 24-millimeter fixed focal length lens. Custom lenses also are available on request. For more information contact Sierra Olympic online at www.sierraolympic.com.
