Efficiencies to 98.5% help deliver high usable power in demanding thermal environments with case temperatures of -40 to 115 degrees Celsius.

SAN DIEGO – TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the 400-to-750-Watt rated RGB series of ruggedized non-isolated DC-DC converters for harsh-environment applications like industrial robots, test and measurement, battery-powered equipment, and automated guided vehicles.

These power supplies operate from input voltages of 9 to 18, 18 to 32, or 18 to 60 volts. The buck step-down converters can deliver output voltages adjustable from 0.8 to 8 volts or 3.3 to 24 volts with output currents to 60 amps.

Efficiencies to 98.5% help deliver high usable power in demanding thermal environments with case temperatures of -40 to 115 degrees Celsius, while providing long battery life.

With a 1/16th brick pinout and measuring 38.1 by 49.5 by 13 millimeters, the converters are encapsulated to provide shock and vibration performance to MIL-STD-810G. The five-sided aluminum case reduces radiated electromagnetic interference and enables conduction cooling to a cold-plate for fanless operation.

The basic feature models of these DC-DC converters include an output voltage adjustment pin, negative logic remote on-off, remote sense, input under-voltage, over-current and thermal protection. An optional adjustable current limit is available to reduce stress on the input source, converter, and load in the event of an overload.
