Simulation software for use with supercapacitors for industrial applications introduced by KYOCERA AVX
FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. – KYOCERA AVX Components Corp. in Fountain Inn, S.C., is introducing a new version of the company's SpiCAT online simulation software for supercapacitors.
The SpiCAT online simulation software enables engineers to identify the characteristics of KYOCERA AVX components, including multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), polymer, tantalum and niobium capacitors, multilayer varistors (MLVs), negative-temperature-coefficient (NTC) thermistors, and supercapacitors.
Devices called supercapacitors are electrochemical double-layer capacitors that balance between electronic or dielectric capacitors like ceramic, tantalum, film, and aluminum electrolytic capacitors and batteries.
Versatile energy-storage devices that work with or without batteries to extend backup time
These large-energy-storage devices can be used alone or with primary or secondary batteries to extend backup time, lengthen battery life. These also provide instantaneous power pulses in power backup, hold-up, energy harvesting, peak power assist, pulse power, and battery applications in industrial, telecommunications, and transportation applications.
The SpiCAT SpiSCAP online simulation software for KYOCERA AVX supercapacitors helps engineers evaluate SCC and SCM series supercapacitors optimized for their applications' discharge requirements.
Users can identify recommended supercapacitors ranging from single cells and modules to series and parallel combinations of parts. For more information contact KYOCERA AVX online at www.kyocera-avx.com.
