Interconnect products increase density through QSFP form factor for 400 gigabits per second speed in eight lanes for 28G NRZ and 56G PAM-4 protocols.

HARRISBURG, Pa. – TE Connectivity in Harrisburg, Pa., is introducing the Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density (QSFP-DD) connectors, cages, and cable assemblies for next-generation data center applications.

The QSFP-DD connectors increase density through an existing QSFP form factor to reach speeds to 400 gigabits per second. This eight-lane solution is designed for 28G NRZ and 56G PAM-4 protocols, with a roadmap to 112G PAM-4 for future system upgrades.

QSFP-DD products are backward-compatible, which can provide an upgrade path from existing QSFP designs. TE's QSFP-DD products leverage proprietary zipper fin heatsink technology allowing them to work cost-effectively in 15-to-18-Watt applications.

TE QSFP-DD connectors include 1x1 through 1x6 cages and surface mount (SMT) connectors on a 0.8-millimeter pitch, along with various lengths and wire sizes of straight and breakout passive copper cable assemblies.

Customer-specific designs with different lightpipes, heatsinks, and cable assemblies also are available. For more information contact TE Connectivity online at www.te.com.
