RF and microwave gallium nitride-based power amplifier for electronic warfare (EW) offered by Comtech PST
MELVILLE, N.Y. – Comtech PST Corp. in Melville, N.Y., is introducing the small-form-factor integrated RF gallium nitride power amplifier for communications, electronic warfare (EW), and radar transmitter systems where space, cooling, and power are limited.
The gallium nitride solid-state power amplifier operates at frequencies from 7 to 11 GHz, and is for traveling wave tube and microwave power module replacement.
The power amplifier features typical RF power output of more than 200 Watts; minimum RF power output at 50 Ohms of 170 Watts; typical gain at power output of more than 53 decibels; a maximum RF input overdrive of 5 decibel-milliwatts; typical gain flatness at 0 decibel-milliwatts input of plus-or-minus ±0.5 decibels; maximum input/output voltage standing wave ratio of 2.0:1; noise output power of less than -90 decibel-milliwatts per Hertz; open/short tested for stability; and built in test for over-current and over-temperature faults.
The device has a nine-pin combo D connector for a DC control interface; DC input of 24 to 32 volts DC; operating temperature of -40 to 65 degrees Celsius; environmental: shock and vibration per MIL-STD-810F; operation at altitudes as high as 10,000 feet; and measures 8 by 6 by 2.5 inches, with a weight of six pounds.
