Intelligence agencies look to DRS for SIGINT equipment

GAITHERSBURG, Md., 27 June 2005. Engineers at the DRS Technologies Signal Solutions unit in Gaithersburg, Md., are building advanced communications intelligence (COMINT) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) equipment for U.S. intelligence agencies.

GAITHERSBURG, Md., 27 June 2005. Engineers at the DRS Technologies Signal Solutions unit in Gaithersburg, Md., are building advanced communications intelligence (COMINT) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) equipment for U.S. intelligence agencies.

DRS is working under terms of orders worth $44 million for the intelligence equipment, which supports all installation types COMINT and SIGINT data, company officials announced Friday.

The equipment is for man-portable, fixed-site, and mobile applications, supporting the intelligence community. DRS will provide high-performance tuners, receivers, demodulators, and direction-finding equipment over the next six months, company officials say.
