PXI Express switching series added to VTI Instruments SentinelEX test and measurement suite
IRVINE, Calif., 10 Oct. 2016. VTI Instruments Corp. in Irvine, Calif., is adding the SentinelEX PXI Express switching series to the company's SentinelEX PXI Express test and measurement suite.
These PXI Express switch modules provide more than 30 times better isolation than comparable modules to improve overall performance, and reduce false pass/fail errors and intermittent faults often associated with marginal signal levels.
The PXI Express switching series includes 11 multiplexer modules, four matrix modules, two general-purpose switching modules, one power switching module, 16 RF multiplexer modules, two RF matrix modules, and 11 microwave switching modules.
They are compatible with 18-slot and nine-slot 3U PXI Express mainframes and a four-slot portable PXI-hybrid mainframe, as well as digitizer, arbitrary waveform generator, programmable resistor, digital I/O, embedded controller, and remote controller modules.

The PXI Express switching series uses signal path shielding, which helps reduce cross-talk and improve channel-to-channel isolation. It offers the ability to personalize the switch via software configuration and on-board health monitoring.
The switch modules use advanced circuit board layout techniques that minimize the effects of unwanted transmission stubs, shield against radiated signals in adjacent slots, and extend the usable bandwidth of the test system as a whole.
The software driver approach is based on IVI industry standards, and helps one driver session control several modules as a subsystem, providing an application development environment that reduces development time.
