PV connector that meets international standards for global use introduced by Amphenol
SIDNEY, N.Y., 26 Aug. 2014. Amphenol Industrial Products Group in Sidney, N.Y., is introducing the H4 UTX PV connector that meets international standards to enable systems designers to use the connectors globally, Amphenol officials say.
The H4 UTX connectors meet IEC50521 TUV 1500V- Class A (All Access), UL6703 1000V (Americas), and JET 1500V (Japan). These certifications make the connector suitable for PV module manufacturers, installers, developers, electrical distributors, as well as inspectors, combiner box companies and engineering procurement construction (EPC) firms worldwide, officials say.
The H4 UTX is available in all AWGs, from 14 AWG to 8 AWG, and are matable with existing H4 PV connectors and the typical PV industry standard connectors.
A larger version of the H4 UTX, the H4 UTX-XL, can accommodate 8 AWG PV wire, to 2 kilovolts. This larger version can mate with the H4 UTX as well as with existing H4 connectors in AWGs.
Amphenol's H4 UTX uses Amphenol's RADSOK technology for current ratings and contact resistance. For more information contact Amphenol Industrial Products Group online at www.amphenol-industrial.com.
