SAIC to support ocean surveillance systems

MCLEAN, Va., 21 March, 2012. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) to provide a systems engineering, software development, test and evaluation, and program management services in support of ocean surveillance systems. The multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a three-year base period of performance, one two-year option, and a potential contract value of approximately $72 million if all task orders and the option are exercised.

SSC Pacific is the Navy's premier research, development, test, and evaluation laboratory for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR). Under the contract, SAIC will provide a systems engineering, software development, test and evaluation, and program management services as required, including: systems engineering tasks and support; requirements analysis; system design and architecture studies; independent analysis, verification and validation and tactical data applications. SAIC is one of five contractors that will compete for task orders under the contract.
