SCI to provide command-and-control communications for U.S. Marine Corps

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., 5 June 2006. SCI Technology Inc. in Huntsville, Ala., won a $10 million contract to deliver tactical operations center inter-communications system (TOCNET) modules for U.S. Marine Corps command and control on-the-move network digital over-the-horizon relay.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., 5 June 2006. SCI Technology Inc. in Huntsville, Ala., won a $10 million contract to deliver tactical operations center inter-communications system (TOCNET) modules for U.S. Marine Corps command and control on-the-move network digital over-the-horizon relay.

Awarding the contract were officials of the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in Charleston, S.C. The contract number is N65236-06-D-6255. Work should be finished by the end of May 2008.

TOCNET is a ruggedized digital intercommunications system based on a flexible architecture that provides for customization to provide complex communication for several different applications. The system provides interfaces for fixed and mobile tactical operation centers for ground and air-based forces, radar sites, missile-launch sites, and air traffic control centers.

SCI also is providing TOCNET equipment for the U.S. Army Air and Missile Defense Command at Fort Bliss, Texas.
