FAIRPORT, N.Y. – Electronics distributor Saelig Co. Inc. in Fairport, N.Y., is introducing the EQHJ series oscillators for use in power electronics applications that require ultra-low phase noise, such as flat panel displays, video streaming via external cables, Ethernet cards, and high speed serial communications links.
The oscillators are designed by frequency control specialist Euroquartz for ultra-low phase jitter. The oscillators provide a precision low voltage complementary metal oxide semiconductor (LVCMOS) output from a supply voltage of 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 volts.
The EQHJ series oscillators deliver frequency stability from plus-or-minus 25 parts per million conversions over the industrial temperature range of -40 to -85 degrees Celsius.
Three industry-standard surface mount packages are available: 7 by 5 by 1.4 millimeters; 5 by 3.2 by 1.2 millimeters; and 3.2 by 2.5 by 1 millimeters.
Current consumption ranges from 3 milliamps typical (5 milliamps maximum) for the smallest package size to 7 milliamps typical (10 milliamps maximum) for the largest devices.

The EQHJ series oscillators are available in the frequency range 5 to 50 MHz. Additional specifications include 15pF load (CMOS), start-up time of 0.8 milliseconds typical, and duty cycle of 50 percent plus-or-minus 5 percent (measured at 50 percent VDD).
Typical rise times are 5 nanoseconds for the smallest size, down to 1.5 nanoseconds for the largest package, with 10 nanoseconds maximum across all sizes.
Aging is plus-or-minus 3 parts per million conversions for first year and plus-or-minus 2 parts per million conversions per year thereafter (at 25 C).
