SAN DIEGO, 11 Jan. 2017. TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the DRB480-24-1 AC-DC DIN rail mount power supply for test and measurement, factory automation, process control, and other power electronics applications where there is limited room on the DIN mounting rail.

The device offers efficiency to 93 percent and reduces waste heat to enable the use of a compact enclosure size featuring a power density of 6 Watts per cubic inch.

The DRB480-24-1 has an operating input range of 90 to 264 volts AC and can deliver 24 volts at 20 amps. Users can adjust the output from 24 to 26.4 volts to offset voltage drops in cabling or where O Ring diodes/FETs are used in a redundant configuration. A DC Okay relay and a front panel LED provides output status.

The convection-cooled unit can operate in ambient temperatures of -20 to 70 degrees Celsius (cold start down to -30 C), with linear derating above 50 C to 62.5 percent load at 70 C.

The design minimizes electrolytic capacitor temperature rises, and offers a 7-year life when operating 24 hours a day in a 40 C ambient at 230 volts AC input at 75 percent load.

The product is housed in a robust metal case measuring 84 millimeters wide, 124 millimeters deep and 125 millimeters tall. Input to output isolation is 3 kilovolts AC, input to ground 1.5 kilovolts AC and output to ground 500 volts AC.

The DRB480 is certified to UL/CSA 60950-1, IEC/EN 60950-1 and UL 508 with CE marking for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directives. All units meet EN55011/EN55022-B, CISPR11/CISPR22-B, and EN61204-3 (Class A) conducted and radiated emissions and comply with IEC 61000-3-2 harmonics and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
