Marvin Test to help BAE Systems provide flight-line test equipment for Air Force bomb ejector racks
Jan. 4, 2018
IRVINE, Calif. – U.S. Air Force flight-line test experts needed a common armament tester for bomb ejector racks on the B-1B, B-2A, and B-52H jet bombers. They found their solution from Marvin Test Solutions Inc. in Irvine, Calif.
Marvin is a member of the BAE Systems-led team that won the Air Force Bomber Armament Tester (BAT) program competition in September 2017, Marvin officials announced this week.
The BAT will be the U.S. Air Force’s common armament tester for intermediate-level testing of all bomb ejector racks, rotary launchers, and pylon assemblies used by the nation’s bomber fleet, Marvin officials say. Marvin will be a significant provider of hardware, software, and design support for the BAT Core Tester, company officials say.
“Our experience in developing mil/aero test solutions and specifically in portable armament test sets enabled us to partner on this program," says retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Stephen Sargeant, CEO of Marvin Test Solutions.
The contract value of more than $64 million asks the BAE Systems team to design, develop, build, and sustain 90 BAT testers, which the BAE Systems team will deliver in three increments over the next nine years.
BAE Systems will do the work in San Diego and Fort Worth, Texas. For more information contact Marvin Test Solutions online at www.marvintest.com.
