FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. – AVX Corp. in Fountain Inn, S.C., is introducing the TWA series axial-leaded, hermetically sealed wet electrolytic tantalum capacitors for harsh-environment military, defense, avionics, and industrial applications.

The power electronics devices are qualified to MIL-PRF-39006/33A, and are for satellites, DC-DC power supplies, power converters, bulk energy storage, and pule power circuits.

The TWA M39006 series capacitors have cylindrical, axial-leaded cases with hermetically sealed welded tantalum cans and header assemblies that withstand the effects of shock, vibration, and temperatures from -55 to 125 degrees Celsius.

TWA series ruggedcapacitors on the MIL-PRF-39006 qualified parts list (QPL) are manufactured at the AVX facility in Lanškroun, Czech Republic, and include T3 and T4 case sizes with M-level reliability. They have failure rates of 1 percent per 1,000 hours.

capacitance values spanning 470 to 1800 microfarads, and voltage ratings from 25 to 75 volts. The TWA M39006 series capacitors also exhibit DC leakage of 5 to 12 microamps at 25 C and 20 to 50 microamps at 85 and 125 C.
