SANTA ANA, Calif. – Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O) in Santa Ana, Calif., is introducing improved capability to produce high-volume, high-quality optical components that operate from 0.2 to 15 microns.

PG&O's PR Hoffman 5400 double-sided polishing (DSP) machine increases the company's high-volume optics manufacturing capacity. The new equipment combines with computer numerical control (CNC) machining, precision glass scribing, edging, and thin-film coating processes to deliver volume parts up to 100,000 high-quality optics per month.

The DSP machine provides manufacturing with surface integrity, dimensional accuracy, and repeatability. For customers who require a large-scale production run or a customized optical solution, the company offers precision finished optics and thin films, on time and on budget.
