Air Force to brief industry on technical challenges in electronic warfare (EW), spectrum warfare technologies
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio – U.S. Air Force spectrum warfare experts will brief industry in January on enabling technologies and trends in electronic warfare, strategic guidance, and technical challenges as they relate to Air Force initiatives in electromagnetic spectrum warfare.
Officials of the Spectrum Warfare Division of the Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate will conduct Electromagnetic Spectrum Warfare Industry Day briefings from noon to 4 p.m. eastern time on 16 Jan. 2025 at the RY Auditorium, 2241 Avionics Circle, Bldg. 600, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Briefings will be at the secret level.
Spectrum warfare
The event will include:
-- briefings from Spectrum Warfare Division leadership, senior technologist, technology area lead, program managers, and lab leads on current and on the Electromagnetic Spectrum Warfare Roadmap;
-- critical information on electronic warfare (EW) trends, strategic guidance, and technical challenges;

-- facilities briefings and updates; and
-- a question-and-answer session.
Officials of the Spectrum Warfare Division seek to foster collaboration and mutual understanding between the Air Force and the defense industry to provide more opportunities for future innovations.
Creating an annual event
The goal is to make the Electromagnetic Spectrum Warfare Industry Day an annual event, where Spectrum Warfare Division experts deliver open, cyclical, communication, and feedback that outlines the direction of electromagnetic spectrum warfare research and development.
Companies interested are asked to fill out a questionnaire and email it by 6 Jan. 2024 to [email protected].
Questions are:
-- what topics would be most beneficial for your company to discuss at industry day?;
-- are there any general issues that your company would like the Air Force to address?;
-- would your company find it valuable to address common issues or misconceptions related to working with the U.S. Air Force?; and
-- any issues or concerns with accessing our facilities or having this briefing at the classified level?
Completing the questionnaire is optional. Large and small businesses are encouraged to attend. Register by email no later than 6 Jan. 2025 at [email protected].
