BERLIN – EPIGAP OSA Photonics GmbH in Berlin is introducing high-power ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in surface-mount packages for sensors, disinfection, and medical sensing applications.

These high-power UV LEDS operate from 225 to 410 nanometers, and cover incremental steps from 5 to 25 nanometers. The company's two newest UV LED devices operate at 225 nanometers and 230 nanometers.

The OCU-490-20 UE365-XG high-power UV LED is for advanced medical or security solutions. It has high intensity of 450 milliwatts per steradian (mW/sr) and a wavelength of 365 nanometers.

The glass lens with its 20-degree viewing angle enables exact delivery of the light in critical UV sensing tasks. Primary applications for EPIGAP OSA's High-Power SMD UV LED series include disinfection, counterfeit detection, security, UV curing, and UV sensing and medical sensing.
