The U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, N.J., has contracted EADS North America Defense Test and Services Inc., formerly Racal Instruments Inc., of San Antonio to provide two jet engine test instrumentation (JETI) systems.
Each of these aircraft-carrier-based JETI systems takes advantage of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products in its data acquisition and throttle control solutions.
EADS North America Defense Test and Services, in its land and sea JETI installations, incorporates common hardware and test program sets, which enable the testing of the F414, F404, F110, F405, F402, and J52 jet engines.
To date, the U.S. Navy possesses 17 JETI systems, 11 of which are sea-based units. The full value of this most recent JETI contract is $1.58 million. For more information, visit www.eads-nadefense.com.
