PALO ALTO, Calif., 28 March 2006. Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced seven LXI Class C instruments, considered the industry's first LXI Unit (as defined by the LXI Consortium) for switching and control in a 1U, half-rack instrument form factor.
The Agilent L4400 Series switching and system control devices are small, industry-standard instruments with remote capabilities and a graphical Web interface. As a result, setup and troubleshooting time are reduced for engineers building design verification and functional test systems in the aerospace/defense, electronics, communications, and computer industries.
Agilent, a founding member of the LXI consortium, offers LXI instruments for switching and control that include the 34980A switch/measure unit and the new L4400 Series switching and control. This product family is part of Agilent Open, a program that ensures industry-standards-based open connectivity in hardware and software.
"The Agilent L4400 Series represents the first in what we hope are many 'LXI unit' products from LXI member companies," says Bob Rennard, LXI Consortium president. "These products embody the vision many have for LXI products: small, 1U, half-rack, faceless instruments that lend themselves to distributed test systems."
