Lockheed Martin acquires 3Dsolve Inc.

BETHESDA, Md., 20 Aug. 2007. Lockheed Martin Corporation has acquired 3Dsolve Inc., a privately held company that creates simulation-based learning solutions for government, military, and corporate applications. The company's software tools assist clients with collaborative training using interactive 3D graphics -- also called "serious games".

BETHESDA, Md., 20 Aug. 2007.Lockheed Martin Corporation has acquired 3Dsolve Inc., a privately held company that creates simulation-based learning solutions for government, military, and corporate applications. The company's software tools assist clients with collaborative training using interactive 3D graphics -- also called "serious games". 3Dsolve's core competencies include multimedia, software engineering, digital artwork, instructional design, and project management for use in state-of-the-art simulation learning solutions.

"The acquisition of 3Dsolve will strengthen our ongoing initiatives in the rapidly growing training and simulation market, allowing us to provide a broader array of solutions and services to our expanding customer base," says Dale Bennett, president, Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support (LM STS).

3Dsolve's employees and software products will remain based in Cary, N.C. ,and become fully integrated into LM STS. LM STS, headquartered in Orlando, Fla., is a supplier of simulation and training solutions, military logistics support, and test equipment to the U.S. government and international customers.
