Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command looks to CDW-G for COTS network equipment
HERNDON, Va., 6 June 2012. CDW Government LLC (CDW-G), a provider of technology to government, education and healthcare customers, has won a supply contract to provide commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) network and communications equipment to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SSC Atlantic).
This contract follows three others that have been awarded during the last 13 months to CDW-G to provide COTS solutions to SSC Atlantic. All four contracts have been indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity, fixed-price agreements with one base year and four option years. SSC Atlantic estimates the value of each contract for all contract holders combined to be at $500 million, if all options are exercised.
The previous contracts CDW-G has received from the Department of Defense included providing communications equipment, C4ISR equipment and audio visual systems. Work for the current contracts CDW-G has received is not expected to end until 2017.
SSC Atlantic is a Navy Working Capital Fund engineering center that provides systems, sensor connections, cyber network infrastructures and knowledge management services to enable naval, joint and national warfighters to access the information they need, securely, regardless of their location. Under the contracts, CDW-G will help SSC Atlantic deliver "speed to capability" in support of the Department of Defense (DoD).
SSC Atlantic is one of five field activities of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). SPAWAR provides both tactical and general information management technology for the Navy. SPAWAR is one of the Navy's three major acquisition commands. SPAWAR develops and deploys military embedded systems for the Navy's C4ISR needs.
