Raytheon hosts first airshow Tweetup, demonstrates mission-enabling technologies
FARNBOROUGH, U.K., 9 July 2012.Raytheon Company (NYSE:RTN) is providing hands-on demonstrations with an emphasis on solutions for protecting military pilots and upgrading fixed-wing and rotary aircraft in service around the world, during the Farnborough International Airshow.
The Raytheon exhibit, with the "Innovation In All Domains – Air, Land, Sea, Space, Cyber" theme, includes:
Interoperable solutions that enhance situational awareness for military pilots inside, and separated from, the cockpit;
An immersive, 4D simulator to showcase technology that allows aging aircraft instruments to be easily and cost-effectively upgraded;
Interactive demos devoted to Integrated Air & Missile Defense; Global Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Net-Enabled Solutions; Space; Cybersecurity; and more.
On July 13, Raytheon will hold a Tweetup by hosting a select group of its Twitter followers as guests of the company. Participants from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States will receive demonstrations of Raytheon technology, view aircraft on display, explore the show by way of its themed Futures Tours, and have a prime viewing position to watch champion student rocketeers from France, the United Kingdom, and the United States compete for the global championship in the annual International Rocketry Challenge.
