Stabilized electro-optical gimbal sensor payload for manned and unmanned aircraft offered by ADSYS
ATLANTA, 8 May 2015.electro-optics experts at ADSYS Controls Inc. in Irvine, Calif., are introducing the Arrow 600 stabilized gimbal with modular configurations for a variety of manned and unmanned aircraft.
The Arrow 600 can carry as many as four electro-optical sensor payloads, including visible-light cameras, long-wave infrared, short-wave infrared, medium-wave infrared, and laser range finders.
ADSYS introduced the Arrow 600 this week at the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) 2015 conference and trade show in Atlanta.
The Arrow 600 offers stable pointing capability for improved image quality and long-range capability. It offers large-gimbal features in a small MIL-STD solution that optimized size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP), company officials say.

The company is on contract to deliver an initial prototype lot to a U.S. government customer sometime this year, officials say. It will be commercially available sometime this fall.
The 6-inch 4-axis stabilized gimbal offers several inertial navigation options, meets military specifications, has high-pressure-wash capability, offers anti-icing in cold weather, and is designed for high-speed, high-attitudes manned and unmanned aircraft.
