CRANE, Ind., 19 Dec. 2016.RF and microwave sensor experts at Azure Summit Technology in Fairfax, Va., will support signals intelligence systems for a variety of U.S. Navy platforms under terms of a $48.5 million contract announced Friday.
Officials of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division in Crane, Ind., are asking Azure Summit to support the Common Signals Intelligence mission sensor for manned and unmanned platforms that the Navy uses for a variety of missions.
The Common Signals Intelligence mission sensor is for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance support, including identification and localization intelligence gathered from electronic signals.
The system is designed to identify and locates targets like communications systems, radars, and weapons systems, and is for forward-deployed Navy platforms.
On this contract Azure Summit will do the work in Melbourne, Fla., and Fairfax, Va., and should be finished by December 2021.
