Xenonics to develop light technology for unmanned aerial vehicle

CARLSBAD, Calif., 17 Dec. 2007. Xenonics Holidings Inc., maker of high-intensity illumination and high-definition night vision technologies, has received a research and development contract from Advanced Ceramics Research Inc. (ACR), Tucson, Ariz., to develop a high-intensity illumination system for the new unmanned aerial vehicle ACR is under contract to develop for the U.S. Government.

CARLSBAD, Calif., 17 Dec. 2007. Xenonics Holidings Inc., maker of high-intensity illumination and high-definition night vision technologies, has received a research and development contract from Advanced Ceramics Research Inc. (ACR), Tucson, Ariz., to develop a high-intensity illumination system for the new unmanned aerial vehicle ACR is under contract to develop for the U.S. Government.

"We have already applied the patented multispectral technology in our NightHunter family of ultra-high-intensity illumination products to land vehicles and sea borne craft. This R&D contract gives us the opportunity to integrate our technology for another new growth application," says Chuck Hunter, CEO of Xenonics. He said that initial development of the integrated system is expected to be completed by summer 2008.
