CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Calif. 7 Oct. 2009.Rockwell Collins today demonstrated a prototype of a 3D interactive moving map application for in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems this week at the WAEA Annual Conference & Exhibition.

Airshow Interactive 3D is designed for the latest generation of IFE systems and will include full featured, realistic 3D interactive capabilities such as selection of multiple 3D map views, points of interest, flight status pages, and connecting gate information, in a choice of languages selectable at the seat. The application will also include the new Version 2 design recently announced for Airshow 4200 and 4200D.

"Airshow Interactive 3D sets a new benchmark for in-flight moving maps by offering the best of both worlds -- stunning 3D map views with in-seat interactive capabilities -- in one Airshow map application that can be hosted on an IFE system server," says Andrew Mohr, director, cabin systems marketing for Rockwell Collins. "This is really the ideal solution that our customers have been waiting for, now made possible with the latest generation IFE system hardware."
