Posted by John McHale MONTREAL, Quebec, 15 July 2010. Presagis announced Lyra IG, a pre-integrated PC image generation (IG) solution that combines visualization software from Presagis with the latest in PC graphics technology and hardware. Lyra IG offers users a high-performance, low-cost IG solution that runs at a 60 Hz frame rate. Users can tailor Lyra IG's commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) capabilities and functions to fit project requirements, while also having the flexibility to extend the solution using Presagis and third party software. Realistic and fully immersive experiences can be generated using Lyra IG for high performance flight simulations including helicopter, low altitude, slow flight, high altitude flight, and fast jet simulation; realistic maritime simulations including navy pilot and maritime operator training applications; and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight simulations. Lyra IG comes pre-configured and optimized to reduce the time and risk often associated with image generator deployment. The solution can be integrated with existing systems using standard communication interfaces, such as CIGI, DIS, and HLA, and out-of-the box compatibility with OpenFlight, CDB, MetaFlight, and TerraPage databases , allowing users to quickly adapt the product for different application needs or to take advantage of an extensive set of add-on capabilities to create visual simulations that can include: high-fidelity, physics-based flight dynamics;2-D graphical overlays and instrumentation; complex training exercise scenario generation; maritime capabilities; and night vision goggle (NVG) and infrared views. The system hardware includes eight Intel Xeon processors, nVidia Quadro FX 5800 graphics with hardware genlock, and 6GB RAM in a 1.5U chassis, one-year hardware warranty, and a maintenance program. Lyra IG requires no additional configuration to operate, and is interoperable with existing development processes, in order to provide maximum productivity in rapid deployment of realistic simulation training applications. Lyra IG will become commercially available in early fall 2010. Interested users can take advantage of pre-release pricing by contacting [email protected].
