AMMROC to overhaul Eurocopter AS350 aircraft for UAE Joint Aviation Command
ABU DHABI, U.A.E., 20 Nov. 2013. Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Center (AMMROC), a joint venture owned by Mubadala, Sikorsky Aerospace Services, and Lockheed Martin, won a $3.1 million (11.5 million AED) contract to complete the overhaul of Eurocopter AS350 aircraft for the UAE Joint Aviation Command (JAC).
AMMROC staff will perform the calendar 12-year inspections, a critical overhaul that includes the inspection and repair of the aircraft mechanical systems, avionics systems, and airframe. AMMROC technicians will perform the overhaul within the UAE, providing a key regional capability formerly only available abroad. The company will provide maintenance services and support of UAE Armed Forces aircraft, while also developing a skilled and educated workforce, officials say.
“The overhaul of the Eurocopter AS350 aircraft is a key part of the JAC’s commitment to ongoing development of its fleet, and AMMROC and its shareholders are proud to be playing a key part in this strategy,” explains AMMROC CEO Fahed Ghareeb Al Shamesi.
