SAN DIEGO, 12 Nov. 2015.Electro-optics expert Photron Inc. in San Diego is introducing the FASTCAM Mini AX200 high-speed camera system for demanding military, automotive, and industrial high-speed imaging, as well as for high-frame-rate imaging in critical laboratory applications.
The FASTCAM Mini AX200 provides 1,024-by-1,024-pixel resolution at speeds as fast as 6,400 frames per second, and at speeds to 900,000 frames per second at reduced resolution.
Target applications include defense and aerospace research, biomechanics, onboard and offboard automotive safety testing, materials sciences, fluid dynamics, life sciences, and other demanding laboratory research tasks.
The compact, high-G camera has light sensitivity of ISO 40,000 (mono) and ISO 16,000 (color), as measured to the industry's true ISO Ssat 12232 standard.

The camera's light sensitivity enables the video capture of extremely high-speed events, without the need for additional lighting packages. It also permits fast frame rates, short shutter speeds, and great depths of field under the same lighting conditions, without added illumination.
With four-, eight-, and 16-gigabyte memory options, the FASTCAM Mini AX200 has a Gigabit Ethernet interface to view and analyze the slow-motion video data from a desktop or laptop PC.
The camera measures 4.7 by 4.7 by 3.7 inches, weighs 3.3 pounds, and resists the effects of as much as 100 Gs shock. For more information contact Photron online at www.photron.com.
