AcceleRate uses direct-attach to connect with the contacts, resulting in improved signal integrity while eliminating the need for a transition card.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Samtec Inc. in New Albany, Ind., is introducing AcceleRate slim direct-attach cable assemblies for military, aerospace, and industrial applications.

The cable system measures 7.6 millimeters wide. The Samtec AcceleRate interconnect system saves printed circuit board space, is rated at 64 gigabits per second PAM4 (32 gigabits per second NRZ) speeds, and is PCI Express 6.0/CXL 3.1 capable.

The AcceleRate communications cable assembly features Samtec's 34 American Wire Gauge (AWG) ultra-low skew twinax cable, which routes signals off the board. Each design is unique, so Samtec works with system architects to create solutions for cable management and thermal load distribution.

AcceleRate interconnects use direct-attach technology to connect with the contacts, resulting in improved signal integrity while eliminating the need for a transition card. For increased stability on the circuit board, the AcceleRate mating board-level slim socket connector (ARF6) and cable assembly (ARC6) system includes rugged metal latching and shielding as well as through-hole weld tabs.

AcceleRate slim cable assemblies are available in 8-, 16-, and 24-differential pair options. The 16 differential pair option supports PCI Express x4 plus sidebands, and the 24 differential pair option supports PCI Express x8 plus sidebands. A "Reversed Polarity" pinout option reduces far-end crosstalk (FEXT).
