Rugged laptop computers for outdoor use by military, railway, and utility workers introduced by Getac

Computers offer IP66-rated ingress protection, meet MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G, can survive a 4-foot drop, and resist salt fog and vibration.

IRVINE, Calif. – Getac Technology Corp. in Irvine, Calif., is introducing the X600 and X600 Pro 15.6-inch rugged laptop computers for military, first-responder, utility, and similar workers who must operate outdoors in harsh conditions.

The X600 and X600 Pro rugged laptop computers are designed to deliver command and control, security, and data-transmission capabilities for military, railway, and oil and gas personnel.

These laptop computers for harsh outdoor conditions run Windows 11 Pro operating system and feature an Intel Core 11th gen i5/i7/i9 H-Series processor with integrated Intel UHD graphics. They offer 16 gigabytes DDR4 RAM memory, with as much as 128 gigabytes optional, as well as optional NVIDIA Quadro RTX3000 discrete graphics controller.

The X600 supports three PCI Express solid-state drives for as much as 6 terabytes of internal storage. The X600 Pro also offers PCMCIA and Express card slots, expanded battery capacity, and DVD super drive/optional Blu-ray drive support.

The rugged X600 features dual 2.5GBASE-T Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, optional dedicated GPS, and optional 4G LTE with integrated GPS, as well as several I/O interfaces, such as Thunderbolt4, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, and serial port.

The X600 includes self-encrypting drives, smart card reader, TPM 2.0, Intel vPro technology, optional Windows Hello face-authentication, optional fingerprint reader, and built-in Kensington lock slot.

The X600 has a 15.6-inch FHD display with optional capacitive 10-point touch that works even while wearing gloves, as well as 1,000 nits of brightness for sunlight readability. The computer weighs less than 10 pounds and offers dual hot-swappable batteries.

Rugged features include IP66-rated ingress protection, MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G, and optional CID2 (ANSI/UL 12.12.91) certification. The computer can survive a 4-foot drop, and resists the effects of salt fog, and comes with a 3-year warranty. The X600 and X600 Pro will be available in October.
