6U VME single-board computer based on low-power Quad-Core Intel Xeon introduced by Themis
FREMONT, Calif., 16 June 2011. Themis Computer in Fremont, Calif., is introducing the XV2 6U VME single-board computer based on the Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor for military and commercial applications involving embedded computing, data storage, and communications. The XV2 is based on the 1.73 GHz low-power Xeon L5518 microprocessor and Intel’s 3420 chipset. The L5518 memory controller supports ECC, and the board's memory is expandable to 24 Gigabytes of DDR III memory. The basic XV2 comes with 3 gigabytes of DDR III memory, 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports, five SATA II ports, four SAS ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, and two XMC/PMC slots.Â
