For the SOT-23 (small outline transistor package, 2.9-by-1.3-millimeter), one of the smallest device packages commonly used for nonvolatile memory, reliable handling and programming the package has proven to be a challenge.
"For some time, there has been an unmet need in the offline automated programming market to support smaller programmable IC packages such as SOT-23," says Carl Olson, Data I/O's director of engineering.
