A230 Vortex uses NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin system-on-module (SoM) for high-performance military and aerospace systems that require compact sizes.

CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Aitech Defense Systems Inc. in Chatsworth, Calif., is introducing the A230 Vortex rugged supercomputer for artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, and video and signal processing in distributed systems that must operate in remote harsh conditions.

The A230 Vortex uses the most powerful NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin system-on-module (SoM) available for high-performance military systems that require compact sizes.

Optimizing the Ampere graphics processing unit (GPU), the rugged high-performance embedded computing (HPEC) system provides as many as 2048 CUDA cores and 64 Tensor cores that reach speeds to 275 teraoperations per second with energy efficiency. The system also features two scalable, configurable, dedicated NVIDIA Deep-Learning Accelerator (NVDLA) engines.

In addition to providing sensor and signal processing, the A230 features high-speed interfaces and a variety of data and video I/O, including four SDI (SD/HD) and eight composites (RS-170 [NTSC]/PAL) that are available simultaneously as well as Gigabit Ethernet, discrete, USB, DVI/HDMI out, UART Serial ports, and an optional NVMe solid-state drive and a microSD card slot.

The rugged supercomputer embedded system offers cold-plate cooling, weighs less than 8 pounds, and has low power consumption, while meeting MIL-STD-810H for vibration, shock, acceleration, altitude, humidity, dust and salt fog.
